Noynoy is not Ninoy

I find it ridiculous to collect 1 million signatures to help convince Sen. Noynoy Aquino to run for president when he's not really into it. Let the man decide for himself. It's peer pressure but then he's not in high school anymore. Although the administration was not in the right place to tell Noynoy to cease using his parents' status as his pedestal, there was some truth in it.

In my opinion, he didn't do much while in the Senate. He was invisible not until his mother's death and the invitation to run for presidency/vice-presidency. I believe his heart is not in the right place and we cannot afford any more regrets.

Vote for the true guardian of democracy. I don't know who and I don't think I'll vote in the 2010 elections mainly because, my vote is not worthy of the present candidates. I just have to wait and see...

I Have Fallen in Love (with the Same Woman Three Times)

While watching the on-going funeral service for President Cory Aquino on TV, I heard Jose Mari Chan sing the poem that was written by Ninoy Aquino for Cory when he was a political detainee. It shows how dedicated Ninoy is to his wife and what certain circumstances can make love stronger. I hope that as I embark into a married life, my soon-to-be hubby and I will be as bonded and loyal to each other as Ninoy and Cory was.

I Have Fallen in Love (with the Same Woman Three Times)
poem by Ninoy Aquino
interpreted into a song by Jose Mari Chan

I have fallen in love
with the same woman three times;
In a day spanning 19 years
of tearful joys and joyful tears.

I loved her first when she was young,
enchanting and vibrant, eternally new.
She was brilliant, fragrant,
and cool as the morning dew.

I fell in love with her the second time;
when first she bore her child and mine
always by my side, the source of my strength,
helping to turn the tide.

But there were candles to burn
the world was my concern;
while our home was her domain.

and the people were mine
while the children were hers to maintain;
So it was in those eighteen years and a day.
’till I was detained; forced in prison to stay.

Suddenly she’s our sole support;
source of comfort,
our wellspring of Hope.
On her shoulders felt the burden of Life.

I fell in love again,
with the same woman the third time.

Looming from the battle,
her courage will never fade
Amidst the hardships she has remained,
undaunted and unafraid.
she is calm and composed,
she is God’s lovely maid.

Smile

A song for all that have lost a loved one...
A song for the mother of all Filipinos...
A song for President Corazon "Cory" Aquino...

Smile
tho'
your heart is aching,

Smile
Even though it's breaking,

When there are clouds in the sky- You'll get by,

If you
Smile through your fear and sorrow,
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shining through- For you.

Light up your face with gladness,
Hide ev'ry trace of sadness,
Altho' a tear may be ever so near,
That's the time you must keep on trying,

Smile- What's the use of crying,
You'll find that life is still worthwhile,
If you just smile.
