I love to dance. Since I was kid, I performed numerous times in front of audiences in school and I enjoyed every moment of it. I was also lucky to have gone to a school were they encouraged students to perform. Now, I've learned that they don't have the same shows we had before. It's pretty sad. Those school activities promote unity and camaraderie amongst students, teachers and even parents. Well, who knows what goes on in those Jesuits' minds...
Anyway, I've been on the prowl for "old" movies. Some movies I watch because of nostalgia. Others, I've been meaning to watch but I couldn't because I was young at that time and was on parental guidance. One particular movie is Dirty Dancing. If it weren't for the news of Patrick Swayze's death (may he rest in peace), I wouldn't have the urge to watch it. I know of it, but I didn't think it would be a nice movie. I was wrong.
The movie blew me away. The 80's really have an appeal to me. I loved the attires. And the women are lean and sexy. Not like the women in the movies today where all I see are boobs and booties (blech!). And the men, are downright sexy. They sure know how to move and groove. And watching them makes the fiery dancer in me come alive. *sigh*
I haven't danced for years. I've been looking for a dance studio in the city for affordable dance lessons or just an hour or two of letting it all out. But I'm also considering on taking ballroom dancing lessons. Hmm...
So anyway, here's a particular song I love in the movie which have won a LOT of awards from oscars to grammys. This is the finale dance.
