Beadage

I've got myself a new hobby for 2010.  In the long run, I am hoping to generate income from it.  I realized that I love doing arts and crafts.  I couldn't live a single day not doing anything that stirs up my creative juice.  And then, I came across a beading website in the internet which made me very curious.  There was this one pattern I love to try BUT they're selling the pattern in dollars.  I decided to do it my own way.

It was very difficult at first.  The first stitch was the hardest.  I couldn't figure out how to stop the beads from falling off but as I figured out a system to string beads efficiently,  I couldn't stop.  I worked a few hours in the morning and at night and the next thing I know, I finished it a day or two after New Year's day.  I am proud of myself.  It's my first time to create something so intricate.  Patience does pay off.  I made a set of earrings and a necklace.  I wasn't able to do the pattern I saw in the internet.  But I'm happy with what I did because it's mine.  My own design.

Also, I was so excited with my creation.  I decided to model it too and take some pictures.  It was a crazy afternoon for me.  I just happen to notice that the sunlight coming in our window is nice and the idea bulb just went on.  I scrambled for my tripod and set up the camera on the stairs landing beside the window.  I set the camera on remote.  Then *click* *click* *click*.  I couldn't get the angle right 'cause I was sitting on the air.  I know you're asking yourselves, "Why didn't she get a chair to sit on?".  Well,  I was too hyped up to finish and the sun was setting that I just braced my self for a couple of minutes of thighs exercise.  After the shoot, I post-processed the pics and uploaded them.  I was on a high.  And felt even better when some of my friends liked what I did.  Nothing beats a couple of praises for a job well done.

Now, I'm finishing another set of beaded jewelry.  But it's going to take a while.  It's also intricate and I'm still in the stage of figuring out how to go about each step.  Still, I'm excited.  I can't wait to show it to my friends again.

If I can do it, so can you ^_^
