I've fallen head over heels. Letterpress printing is sooooooo beautiful...soooooo elegant...soooooo sophisticated and... sooooooooo expensive. *sigh*
The past few days, my fiance and I were looking for ideas for our invitation and he chanced upon letterpress printing. We learned that Davao's printing presses do not have that service anymore because either their machines are worn and old or lack of demand pushed them to stop offering such service. There are a number of companies in Manila that do it but they're very expensive which means no letterpress invitation for us. *sniff*
On the bright side, it means more savings for our honeymoon! Yey! I'm very excited 'bout that. Our first journey together. And thinking about that makes me less depressed. LOL
Anyway, we've decided to make it simple yet still elegant. No ribbons, no feathers, no boxes, no adornments. Plain and simple. Well not THAT plain. We'll just have to wait and see how it turns out. Hopefully, pleasant. What's important is that our recipients get the idea that we're getting hitched.
For now, goodbye letterpress... Maybe on our Golden Anniversary then ;)
oh i am with you on this... i am so inlove with letterpress as well. its true that here in davao most of the machines have worn out... too bad... im still looking for a way though to have that... =)
ReplyDeletei hope i'll be able to get your idea invitation even without the letterpress style!
